The sound of an inline - engine is unique! And the phantastic smoothness of a twostroke- inlineengine is a milestone for all other principles.Last but not least - the power output is equal to other engines with the same engine displacement. Watch the movies - and you'll understand what we talking about!
One of the advantages of the RR258 are the engine mounts. You find three of them "backyard - as usual" and two in front of the housing. So you can build a rib-former frame to support the engine. This leadss to a solid attaching base for the engine and helps to stiffen the fuselage. The construction of the model, your ruddermachines and your hinges must be strong enough to withstand the forces - Consider: You'll plug in a little beast! You need no additional propeller shaft to fit the fuselages - the RR258 have a long one.
Another thing: the cooling of an inline engine. It is no problem . I'm flying since years only inline engines without thermal problems. But if you disregard that - you'll generate a malfunction up to a complete injury. (an article "how to do" - with pics and description is coming here)
